Business Development Manager Insurance IT Sector

Job Responsibilities

Assisting with the development and execution of a sales and marketing plan for the business.

Against agreed targets, the successful execution of the business development plan.

This will include the cultivation and maintenance of strong business relationships with existing and potential trading partners.

Must-Have Skills

Insurance experience, personal and SME commercial.

Panel management experience, either with a broker or a comparison site business.

Proven track record of achieving and exceeding targets

Exceptional communication, negotiation and presentation skills

Ability to work independently and as part of team

Self-motivated, results driven

Nice-to-Have Skills

Should ideally have an existing network of insurer and broker contacts.

Should ideally have experience in the social networking side of the industry, with strong social media links of their own.

Role Summary

Reporting directly to the company’s Commercial Director, the role calls for relationship building in support of sales of all the company’s products, including the new Quote Portal, and Quote & Buy solution. Another new area of business for i-Wonder is the delivery of advanced self-management subscription services for the new dashboard and panel hub. In addition to that, the continued growth of our comparison site business, both own brand and white label, will be a key part of the role, alongside panel growth for our entire product range. To achieve all this, the successful candidate will play into and work alongside our existing marketing team.

Time

The role is full time, based on a 37.5-hour week, however strong candidates unable to currently offer this level of availability will be considered. The role is predominantly working from home, for which full technical support is offered. The role will also call for travel from time to time, for example key client meetings, expositions, and formal company meetings. 

Location

We are based in Micheldever, Hampshire where we have a barn conversion office with good parking. There will be no relocation requirements as the role can be effectively discharged from virtually anywhere in the UK.    

Working Conditions

The great majority of internal and external meetings will be conducted virtually, normally through Microsoft Teams. We support flexible working with no fixed start and finish times, although we do expect availability Monday to Friday outside of holiday times.
